Ursinia

Anthemoides Annual.  This plant is a beautiful member of the Daisy family. It has golden-orange flowers with a dark ring around the center. The foliage is medium green and fern-like. Full sun to part sun. Height 8-10". Zones 9-10

(Arctotis) African Daisy Perennial. These daisies are closely related to Osteospermum and Dimorphotheca. They have fuzzy, lobed, silver foliage. The brightly colored flowers have dark contrasting eyes. Full sun. Heat-loving, well-drained soil, moist.  Height to 18".  Zones 9-10

Verbena

This genus is home to some of the most popular garden plants. They are easy to care for and drought tolerant. The globular flowers put on quite a show; perfect for groundcovers, containers, or hanging baskets. The larger leafed varieties have coarse hairy leaves; while the dissected leafed selections have fine lacy foliage. Full sun. Height to 12", trails to 2' Zones 8-10

Veronica                            

Speedwell Perennial. This genus is ideal for the perennial border as well as rock gardens. The masses of small flowers appear in mid summer. Hummingbirds love this genus. Keep them well fed and moist for best results. Full sun to part shade. 
peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' or 'Blue George'
This low-growing, spreading mound of green is covered with hundreds of tiny blue flowers with white eyes. It blooms in early spring, repeat bloom in the fall. Height 4-6", 18" spread. Zones 6-9 
prostrata    ‘Nestor’
Compact plant with ground covering light blue flowers, good for rock gardens, Stone wall and beds or borders. 6” Zones 5-9
'Waterperry' This hybrid has lush green spreading foliage that turns purple in the colder months. The light blue flowers appear in early summer. Height 4-6”, spreads to 15". Zones 6-9

Vinca

major variegata Perennial. This favorite spreading groundcover is also useful in baskets and containers. The large white and green variegated foliage trails up to 3 feet, often rooting at every node. Star shaped purple flowers appear in spring and summer. Full sun if well watered. Full sun to part shade.  Will mound to 16". Zones 7-10
maculata gold and green variegated
minor  trailing perennial for sun or part sun and well drained soil with sufficient water. It’s evergreen and makes an excellent low growing groundcover. Trim to keep in check.

  • ‘Double Purple’ rosy-wine colored semi-double flowers, green foliage
  • ‘Illumination’ golden yellow foliage with green margins
  • ‘Valley Glow’ gold variegated, new growth nearly fluorescent, yellow stems and moss green mature foliage, white flowers

Vincas, Annual types: best planted when night temperatures are above 41 degrees

Viola

odorata 'Duchess Du Parme' Perennial. This charming viola was selected for its beautiful double lavender flower. The flowers appear from spring to fall over medium green heart shaped leaves. Part sun to part shade. Height to 8".  Zones 6-10

‘Ruby & Gold’ Ruby colored petals with yellow faces.
‘Yellow’ Has a compact habit and the blotch center is highlighted by the bright yellow petals.
