Rudbeckia

Perennial. This member of the Daisy family is also native to North America. If you are a bird lover let the flowers go to seed. The huge bright yellow flowers with brown centers are held above hairy, heart shaped leaves. It is extremely drought tolerant once established. Full sun to part shade.
‘Cherokee Sunset Mix’ a blend of yellow, orange, bronze, mahogany, and other sunset colors. The flowers vary from semi-double to double.
'Indian Summer' Extremely large burnt yellow flowers.  Height 36-40".
'Irish Eyes' large yellow flowers with green centers. Height 24-30"
'Sonora' Large yellow flowers with a black center. Height 10-14"
'Toto'  Dwarf. Golden orange flower. Height 8-10" 

Ruellia
This genus is from tropical and subtropical America. The funnel shaped flowers occur in densely packed terminal panicles and auxiliary clusters. They look especially good in informal borders. Ruellia are tolerant of dry conditions but perform best in humus rich, fertile, moist soil and like sun or part shade. Zone 10
